Computer science is one of the fastest developing fields of science and technology. It is base of the most company managements systems. It uses the newest technologies and determines standards for computer systems. Informatics is present in every aspects of our life. Demand for specialists in this field is growing during years.

Our Institute runs:
- professional studies (I degree studies lasting 3,5 year)
- master’s degree studies (II degree studies lasting 2 years)
- postgraduate studies

Modern specializations

We offer education at two levels: 3 and half-year professional studies and 2-years supplementary master studies. On professional studies we offer specializations:
- Systems and databases programming,
- Computer systems and networks,
- Management's informatics systems,
- Computer systems security.

Supplementary master studies lead the specializations:
- Designing of the informatics systems and computer networks,
- Computers security systems engineering

The highest education standard

Each day we make the attempt to studies at the computer sciences faculty of the University of Podlasie were chair at the highest level. In September 2004 our work was appreciated by the National Accreditation Commission, which gave us the positive opinion.

Excellent prepared staff

Institute of Computer Science has the qualified staff with wide knowledge on computer sciences field, excellent prepared for teaching student the creativeness and openness for new technologies and trends in computer sciences.

Perfectly equipped laboratories

At present our Institute owns 12 laboratories located in two buildings. Laboratories are equipped in the latest computer hardware. Computer Sciences Institute has his own computer network working on all laboratories. Access to the network is also possible by the wireless connection working in 802.11b/g standard.

W poniedziałek, 14 czerwca 2010 roku na Wydziale Nauk Ścisłych Akademii Podlaskiej odbyło się spotkanie uczniów szkół ponadgimnazjalnych z przedstawicielami kierunków nauk ścisłych. Spotkanie zainicjowane zostało przez Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego w ramach projektu systemowego „Kampania Promocyjna na rzecz kierunków matematycznych, przyrodniczych, technicznych" działania 4.1 poddziałania 4.1.3 PO KL.

Na spotkanie przybyło blisko 120 uczniów szkół ponadgimnazjalnych. Po uroczystym otwarciu spotkania przez prof. dr hab. Tamarę Zacharuk, Prorektora ds. Organizacji i Rozwoju Akademii Podlaskiej i wprowadzaniu w tematykę spotkania przez panią Karinę Cywińską z MNiSW uczestnicy mieli okazję zobaczyć prezentację wszystkich kierunków ścisłych Akademii Podlaskiej w tym także kierunku informatyka.
